Spice it Up: Chicken Wings

Football season is officially upon us and that can only mean one thing: chicken wings, anybody? Buffalo wings are a classic at football watch parties-- after all, that’s why sports bars are such a popular place to watch a football game-- but what about those who are fans of football, but not the spice?

There are plenty of alternatives to buffalo sauce when it comes to chicken wings. Garlic parmesan, for example, is likely a close second when it comes to wing flavoring. But there are so many more options than that!

  • Baked Salt and Pepper Wings: Whoever said chicken wings had to be fried or breaded? These wings are perfect for those who want to enjoy some good old baked chicken wings without the mess that can come with the sauce.

  • Thai Chicken Wings: You may not initially think of combining Thai food with chicken wings, but this sweet and spicy combo is sure to be a fan favorite once you break it out! A simple Thai sauce is a perfect way to add a little Asian flair to any dish.

  • Lemon Pepper Wings: Lemon pepper provides a zesty taste with just enough of a hint of pepper to be a little spicy! This is perfect for your guests who prefer a lighter, sweeter take on a traditional football favorite. We recommend trying this with our Garlic Lemon Pepper seasoning for an even more well-rounded flavor!

  • Grilled Chicken Wings: This is another perfect example of why chicken wings don’t always have to be fried or breaded-- football season may have started, but grilling season will still be sticking around for a while! For a kick with a different flavor than buffalo, try rubbing on our Nashville Hot seasoning before tossing these wings on the grill!

  • Slow Cooker Chicken Wings: If you’ve got a slow cooker or Instant Pot, you have nearly endless options when it comes to how you cook your chicken wings. These handy appliances mean that even if you’re going to be in a rush to get everything else ready for game day, you can still make your wings in almost no time!
