I inherited my love for delicious southern cooking from my mother Julia Belle Burton, whose family as part of the great migration came north from Milledgeville, Georgia to settle in Akron, Ohio. While my dad worked in the steel industry, Julia Belle was busy cooking for her growing family. Comfort foods were her specialty –macaroni & cheese, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, fried chicken, black-eyed peas; each deliciously seasoned with her own special mix of herbs and spices. She would spend hours in the kitchen perfecting her recipe to get just the right taste and flavor. She didn’t know it at the time, but she was igniting a passion for cooking, inspiring a love of spices, creating a desire to share her knowledge of rich southern cuisine

After she passed away, I was cleaning out the basement in her house when I found a trunk full of recipes – many handwritten by her. These keepsakes became the inspiration for this line 100% natural seasonings, rubs and mixes with just the right amount of heat.
