Scary Good Ideas for Your Next Halloween Party

There are plenty of classic Halloween appetizers and drinks-- mummy jalapeno poppers, spooky twists on deviled eggs, witches brew cocktails, and many more. But have you been looking for a way to spice up your meals for Halloween this year? We’ve got some scary good ideas for you to add to your Halloween party line-up!

Hors D’oeuvres and Cocktails

No Halloween party has officially begun without hors d’oeuvres and cocktails! There are plenty of options for both that can be very quick and easy to make. For hors d’oeuvres, we recommend some bloody mozzarella eyeballs-- simply layer olives on top of mozzarella balls and add some tomato sauce “blood”-- or pumpkin puke guacamole. Simply make your favorite guacamole recipe and stage it with a jack-o-lantern to look like the guacamole is coming out of it’s mouth. We recommend adding a little Mexican Adobo to take your guacamole recipe to the next level!

When it comes to cocktails, Halloween is the perfect time to get creative. For example, there are almost limitless takes on the Witches Brew drink, which is a relatively simple cocktail to make and can be made in large batches. All you need is some melon liqueur (this is perfect due to its bright green color, but you can switch it out for any flavor you like!), Cointreau or Triple Sec, and lemon juice. If you really want to amp up the spooky vibes, try using a witches cauldron as the serving bowl and adding some dry ice.

Dinner

While Halloween-themed appetizers and cocktails are generally to be expected at a Halloween party, it doesn’t hurt to have more of a meal sometimes, depending on the type of gathering-- also Halloween-themed, of course! One easy way to do this is to make jack-o-lantern stuffed peppers. All you have to do is make your favorite stuffed pepper recipe, but with one extra step-- carving jack-o-lantern faces into your peppers! If you’re looking for a way to switch up your traditional recipes, we have a number of different seasonings at your disposal, from Pasta Lovers Paradise for an Italian twist to Nashville Hot to amp up the spice.

If you’re looking for a dinner option more suitable for bigger parties, why not turn your chicken wings into bat wings? Make sure to purchase whole chicken wings and do not separate them. While marinating your wings, stretch them out to make them look more like bat wings! We recommend trying our My Cousin Pookie Buffalo Wing Rub in your marinade.

Dessert

No Halloween party is complete without dessert. For a fun twist on cream puffs, try adding pumpkin pie spice and orange food coloring to your batter and making your filling with cream cheese and pumpkin puree. Tie the whole thing together by decorating the cream puffs to look like jack-o-lanterns! And of course, you can never go wrong with sugar cookies decorated to look like ghosts, monsters, brains, or any other spooky things your guests will enjoy.
